The Honourable Justice Peter Barr - Member

Justice Barr was appointed to the Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal as a Member on 4 April 2019. He has been a judge of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory since 2010.

Justice Barr was born and raised in New South Wales and attended the University of Sydney. He obtained the degrees of Bachelor of Arts in 1974 and Bachelor of Laws in 1976. After admission to practice in New South Wales, he was admitted in the Northern Territory, where he worked as an employed solicitor, and then as a solicitor in sole practice, from 1976 to 1991. In 1993, he commenced practice at the independent bar, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2004. He was President of the Northern Territory Bar Association from 2007-2009.

Justice Barr served as a legal officer in the RAN Reserve from 1977 to 2018.
